The Greek Stigma

With the negative light being shined on Greek Life right now, I'm sure you have heard many uneducated people's opinions about how horrible Greek Life is. I know personally, it actually makes me feel horrible. When someone criticizes something that you are so passionate about, it's hard not to.

When addressing these issues, it's important to stay calm and level headed. Remember that you won't convince everyone that Greek Life is amazing as you know it is. Here are a few tips:

1. Make sure you know your facts. Nothing is more likely to ruin your credibility than misquoting an amount raised for philanthropy or a number of active chapters on your campus.

2. Don't get frustrated. Get frustrated with rebuttals to your points will only make you mad. Stay level headed!

3. Take a deep breath. If you love your sorority, then who cares if someone else doesn't.

Good luck with all the negativity and email us if you have any stories about the Stigma!

YIPS (Yours in Panhellenic Sisterhood)
